Today I’ll share a paramount necessity to turning life around so you can feel good or at least feel better about life in order to create changes to get more of the things you want… and less of what you don’t want!
Feeling well is essential for personal improvement and happiness, particularly if you feel you’ve “hit bottom” and are totally down in the dumps.
..In my last two posts I spoke about the Law of Attraction and the fact it exists and is always at work in your life (one way or the other) whether you like it, embrace it, accept it, … or not!
I also shared a post outlining a few examples of how it’s always worked in my life, even though I didn’t realize or pay attention to it at the time.
Today, however, I’m not rattling on about the LOA specifically, but more I’d like to share that I believe, beyond a shadow of a doubt that when it comes down to the nitty gritty, everything in my life has always been a direct result as to how I “felt” during the times I experienced landmark events.
Now bear in mind, we don’t have to call ‘the reason things happen” the “Law of Attraction” if you don’t want to…… that’s just an overused; over hyped phrase that has been hammered to death these last few years and created a bit of a “woo hoo” stigma in some cases, taking away from the common sense of what it really is.
The point is, regardless of what you want to call it, in order to turn life around and make changes for the better, we have to do something about it and ‘be involved’, and at the end of the day our performance always boils down to how we feel… which ultimately results in what we do… or don’t do..
Today I’m referring to feeling good or at least feeling better about life and making ‘positive progress’ to make life changes that are within our control.
I do not want you to confuse this with things that are not within our control… (I.e. losing a loved one or losing employment, etc.).
It’s just that I firmly believe that when it comes to achieving personal abundance, fulfillment and leading a better life, etc., we all have the power to make it happen (if we truly want to), and that everything we have to this point is many a time a result of something we have done, or not done to this point… good or bad.
For example, if you’re currently in a situation, where you: hate your job, you’re flat broke, miserably unhappy with your career or personal life, you need to start feeling better “physically” first and foremost before you can take any steps in the right direction.
Feeling well is absolutely imperative in order to feel good mentally. Feeling good mentally is the only way you’ll ever be able to recognize or even ‘think’ about the fact you have the power and ability to make life changes.
You see, today, we live in a time where there is a plethora of opportunities for improvement but the problem is, if we don’t have the energy to see them, let alone take action, we’ll just keep getting the same as we’ve always gotten and it becomes no different than being on the same treadmill, year in, year out.
Why We Don’t Always Feel Well:
The challenge however is, in this day and age it’s not always easy to feel good physically or at least as good as we should.
We humans have a lot to contend with: We live in a fast paced world where stress is at an all time high. We run around like a “farts in wind tunnels” and have less time to just ‘chill out’ that ever before.
Because of this, many of us don’t eat as well as we should, sleep as well as we should and down time and work-life-balance is a thing of the past for many of us and this has a way of leaving us sluggish and exhausted.
Time issues aside, we also have environmental battles to weaken us further. Some you may have never thought about or considered some of them, but the end result is, many of us live with weakened immune systems and are not nearly as healthy as we used to be when things were simpler and less complicated.
These environmental issues affect many areas of life and if truth be told is a topic in itself. Because I could easily get carried away and veer off track, I’ll write about these separately in my next post and when I do, (It’s up now – take a look) I will be asking for your input and points of view.
For now though, I’ll focus on this post and the point I’m making which is the fact that when we don’t feel good, or feel as well as we should, we’re often run down and sometimes plain tired out which results feeling ‘flat’, unenthusiastic and horribly lethargic.
When in this mode, it’s pretty tough to see the bright side and put out the right vibrations to even begin attracting the right stuff no matter how much we want to chunter on about the LOA.
Before I Managed to Turn Life Around:
I know when hit my lowest point in life, I just couldn’t see the positives. My outlook and mindset was such that I couldn’t even grasp enough common sense to begin putting forth the effort (let alone energy) into attempting to save my marriage when it went down the proverbial ‘swanny’.
To be honest, I was so worn out and sluggish, I felt to be pulling a grand piano uphill all day, every day and I’m darn sure it showed to anyone and everyone with whom I came in contact. 😐
When I made the decision to sell my half of the family business to stay home with the kids, instead of being elated as I should have been, it took every last drop of energy I had to simply get through each day. I wasn’t well enough to see the bright side or show any kind of gratitude for the opportunity…and my ability to recognize the fact I had options to create changes was so far off my radar it wasn’t even funny due to sheer exhaustion and anxiety.
It wasn’t until I became so thoroughly sick and tired of being sick and tired, I paid attention to how unhealthy and energy less I really was. This light bulb moment allowed me to see the correlation between my mind, body and spirit and ultimately forced me to decide that come hell or high water, I had to find the energy to actually do something about it.
Well… now that I’ve beaten this long winded “introduction” to death… I’ll get on with it and share with you a few of the changes I made that made me feel good about life again and ultimately helped me make the right choices to create a new and exciting existence.
Great ways to Feel Good & Feel Better:
1) Start to eat more regularly… and correctly. I made a point to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner every day even though I didn’t always feel like it).
Because of my ‘depression’ I’d got into the bad habit of just nibbling…usually on something ‘unbalanced’ and that took little effort to ‘throw together.
Problem is, if you don’t nourish your body and maintain it properly, you’re going to feel energy less and have no motivation to do anything… let alone maintain a positive outlook!
2) I paid closer attention to WHAT I ate too. I made healthier choices and paid more attention to my selections in the way of fresh produce, meats, grains, etc. Making good food choices and being selective is paramount these days and one of those ‘environmental’ topics I’ll talk about in my next post.
I think it’s worth mentioning I’m not a ‘health nut’ but as a rule I’m not an ‘unhealthy eater’ either and I have always provided a well balanced, healthy diet for my kids. At the time I was struggling emotionally however, I, along with most people in the same boat, didn’t put a lot of effort into my own intake.
With that said, sometimes even if you’re not ‘down in the dumps’… just simply due to a busy life, diet can often take the back burner and instant packaged/canned foods or fast food becomes ‘over convenient’ and sometimes even a way of life. (Not a good thing!)
3) I started to get more rest. To be honest, I’ve never had a problem actually “sleeping” apart from the very occasional ‘odd’ bout of insomnia, but I made extra effort to get to bed at a decent hour.
So many of us to burn the candle at both ends. Sometimes it’s because we have so much to accomplish each day and want to make use of every minute; other times it’s just to savour a little ‘peace and quiet’ when our kids are in bed. Problem is it never does us any good.
A good night’s sleep is one of the best remedies for feeling well. Sleep gives your body time to heal and rejuvenate and my grandma always said that every hour you can get to bed before midnight is worth double.
I hate to admit, I still battle with getting to bed on time … but I’ll be the first to say how much brighter and resourceful I am when I behave.
4) Take a good Multi Vitamin. I started taking a good multi vitamin every day as well as fish oil capsules and iron. I’m not giving any medical advice here… but it’s so important these days to take a good supplement and I doubt any doctor would argue that. With the way our food supply is these days, you can rarely count on getting everything you need from food alone.
5) Drink water… and lots of it. 95% of the population is dehydrated and don’t realize it. We need a minimum of 8 glasses of water per day… and I’m not talking about juice, tea, coffee, either. I’m referring to clean pure water.
I will admit that I never was a huge water lover, but when you force yourself to get into the habit of drinking it regularly throughout the day, you get used to it and integrate it into your regular routine; you can’t help but notice how much better you feel.
Earlier last year, I started drinking alkaline water too. The reason I switched from purified is because alkaline water is better absorbed by body hence flushes any acidosis caused by the food we eat, beverages, stress, etc…and balances the bodies natural pH. I only wish I’d have subscribed to Alkaline much sooner as we have all noticed a tremendous difference in energy and performance.
6) Listen to something uplifting every single day, such as personal development or motivational tapes to increase your outlook, not to mention your vibration.
When I started to feel better due to my new habits, I began to ‘think’ better and had a much brighter outlook. Listening to positive information boosted my motivation and it was around this time my new found ambition lead me to discover my personal development program / business opportunity that lead me down this particular entrepreneurial path.
I listened to the CD’s (that are part of the program) every day while doing housework…or even while in bed and it was (and still is) a great way to ‘get your motor running!
It’s a heck of a lot better for you than listening to all the doom and gloom the ‘news’ broadcasts into our lives each day.
7) I started reading positive and empowering books as well. Many were self growth topics on the power of positive thinking etc., but they made me feel so good!
While you may not choose the same types of books as me, I would simply suggest you read something that lifts your spirits, is relaxing and brings personal satisfaction & enjoyment.
8) I made sure I got outside in the fresh air for a minimum of 30-60 minutes each day, longer when I had the opportunity. It didn’t matter if I was taking my children for a walk to the park, or just walking around the block. Getting some air puts the pink in your cheeks and you feel better for it.
9) I started to go out a more often to socialize with my friends as during the time I felt down in the dumps, I more or less became a recluse.
Getting a change of scene and going for a nice dinner and a good laugh with others is very good for the soul.
Laughter really is the best medicine.
10 ) It’s a beautiful thing when you regain your physical and mental energy. I found I felt more like setting goals and looking ahead to the future instead of moping.
When you’re starting to come alive again, it’s a good time to make a list of what your “ideal life” would look like. Dig down and determine the ways you can make changes to create your own life by design.
Write these ideas down the old fashioned way…with pen and paper. There is something about writing it down that makes it real and makes it stick.
Take your time and really dig to the core of what you really want… and don’t worry if you feel the goals are far fetched. Think BIG. You’ll start to see all sorts of opportunities and you’ll feel to have more control of life and see the possibilities that lay before you.
11) Be kind to yourself and learn to recognize your own value. With an increased energy level you’ll also improve your self esteem which is key to being happy.
We are all unique individuals and all possess value and unique talents. We all have something we can use to help both ourselves as well as help others create positive life changes. We just have to take the time to find our own purpose.
Never be afraid of walking to the beat of your own drum either. You’re ok the way you are.
While I do believe it’s great to learn from others and take advice, it’s also ok to listen to yourself and follow your own heart and intuition. (This is a topic I’m also looking forward to writing about in a future post).
Wrappin’ It Up:
Feeling good as a whole will rub off to your mental well being as well. The longer you maintain a positive attitude consistently; you’ll develop a stronger mindset and put out the positive energy to everyone around you and attract more of the “right stuff” into your life.
If you’re feeling less than satisfied with life, yet too lethargic to create any changes, take my word for it.
If you feel like crap, you’ll think like crap… you’ll often look like crap and you’ll reap nothing but crap!!
Maybe I should have said this right off the bat and the post would have been done! 🙂
If any of this post resonates with the way you feel, there is nothing I’ve shared here that is difficult to implement. In fact, these simple habits are almost effortless and a small price to pay for how great you’ll feel after a couple of weeks. Contact me if you need a hand.
This is the advice I share with both clients and friends alike and I’ve had some wonderful feedback, even though what I’ve written about isn’t rocket science. Sometimes you just need to ‘hear’ it for the penny to drop.
Take responsibility and start today and you will feel better not only inside, but it’ll show on the outside and you’ll find you’ll have more energy in body mind and spirit.
What do you think?? Have you noticed the correlation between your own physical well being and mental outlook? Please share your thoughts and any other ideas below.

Hi Jayne,
This is a fantastic post! I love how you incorporated taking care of ourselves physically with taking care of ourselves emotionally. We are a whole package and not bits and pieces of disconnect. How we take care of ourselves physically has a profound impact on how we do emotionally and vice verca. We can be totally in tuned to one while ignoring the other and we won’t be healthy. Something will be really unbalanced and amiss.
Thanks for sharing all of those points! I know that I don’t always get to each one daily and it’s a very inspiring list with great reminders!
Stacy
HI Stacy, I love the way you phrased your comment. We are indeed a whole package, yet it’s funny how that can be so often overlooked.
Feeling well really puts spring in your step doesn’t it!?
Thanks for your great comment.
Jayne
Fantastic post Jayne!
Thank you for this, some great reminders… I’m with you 100%.
It is our thoughts and our FEELINGS that create our life.
Often it is the little things that have the biggest effect on our life and our world. Thanks again, keep em’ coming.
HI Ragnar, thanks so much for stopping by. Nice to meet you.
Our feeling do either propel us forward or hold us back. In order to have great feeling though, being physically healthy is a huge necessity. Like I say if you don’t ‘feel well’ it’s hard to have a positive affect on any aspect of life.

Very inspiring article, Its really a kind of refreshing towards daily life. Thanks for sharing these one.
Thanks Mint. Hope you will find some of the suggestions useful.

Hi Jayne,
I absolutely believe there is a correlation between what’s going on in our bodies and how we feel mentally. We can’t be in top mental shape if we’re suffering from lack of sleep, or filling our bodies with unhealthy foods. Personal development isn’t just about developing our minds, it’s also about getting our bodies in the best shape too.
Nice post!
There is certainly a correlation between our health and how we feel mentally. Many times we get a healthy body for granted but when something happens we understand how important is our health.
Without our health we cannot enjoy life and this can certainly effect our personal and even professional life…
HI Kostas, you nailed it. Looking after your health is definitely the number one focus we should all adopt. It’s too late when we’re faced with something unforeseen. We are no good for anything then.
Lovely to see you
Jayne
Jamella, how right you are. Personal development encompasses the whole ‘person’ and I do believe that everything ties together.
If you dont feel well, you really don’t think well… and vice versa… so the whole package of new habits is important.

hi Jayne, great list for feeling good. I love no. 6,7 and 10. To feel good even you had miserable is able to forgive and able to feel gratitude. When we make peace with ourselves, we feel better.
HI Viviana, thanks so much for the compliment. While so many of these suggestions are common sense, it’s amazing how often we humans don’t pay attention to them.
Peace is huge… we have to be at peace … it does a lot for stress reduction which in my opinion is the root of many things we face.

Hi Jayne,
Another excellent post! Your writing style is just plain attractive and your wraps too 🙂
Feeling great is super important and one that I see that too many people do not put in the effort to do.
We might not be able to control what happens to us but we can sure control what happens in us and thus we can choose our reactions to whatever happens to us.
One of my best ways of feeling great is saying gratitude every morning. I might not feel like it but i have learnt to give thanks for everything in my life. From my shoes to my food to my walking and sleeping. There is a fountain of peace released when we are so full of thanks.
Great post, Jayne 🙂
Tosin
Tosin, thanks so much for your kind words. I can feel your positive energy always and it doesn’t surprise me that you engage in gratitude on a daily basis.
I think that goes a long way in strengthening our ability to feel great.
thanks so much for sharing your routine with us.
Jayne
One thing I notice is when I’m having a “great” day, it seems no matter what I do it turns out great. If I’m having a bad day, things seem to perpetuate and get worse.
I know they say to simply “change your attitude” but can’t say I can recall a time when that ever worked! LOL
Thank you Jayne.
HI Warren, I get what you are saying here. It’s not easy to instantly flick a switch.
sometimes when I need an attitude adjustment, it comes with self talk and convincing. It takes for me to put things in perspective until I see the light… then I’m all good.
today though, I’m sorta talking about when you feel ‘fun down’… or even under the weather. sometimes its difficult to feel like jumping up and down with a big beaming smile when you feel less than ‘well’….
Same goes for feeling ambitious. When I was ill (so to speak)… I was just bleak and didn’t care enough to try to change my attitude.
Have you ever felt like that? 🙂
Jayne
Yes, I’ve been sick lately. 2011 was a full year.
Bought a house
Got engaged (New Years Eve)
Got pregnant (well, I helped) LOL
And was told i had Kidney Cancer (talk about timing eh?) 🙂
Still working on them, and anxiously awaiting April 13th to meet my daughter (our first child) but staying positive and motivated can be challenging.
It wasn’t so much I didn’t care about things (like my business) just more of is it the smart thing to do?
I did look for the “switch” and would have flicked it, but not sure there is one! I’m sure there are a lot of things that influence our moods, but the main one is probably our brains, and even if it’s working in the background it’s hard to bypass and make yourself feel ambitious if it won’t co-operate.
The one outside influence that I could probably make better use of is water intake. I get so focused working that I forget to eat/drink sometimes for hours! (I’ll work on it!)
HI Warren… Whoa… holy #F.. so… congrats on your accomplishments and positive undertakings… so what’s going on with the Kidney cancer?
Are you undergoing treatments or going natural?? How are you managing this?
I am sure you’ll be just fine as I can feel your attitude off the print… but I am wondering what you’re doing. YOu look good (health wise). … well… OK ‘other wise’ too 🙂
Have you read the Healing Codes? I am reading it right now. It’s definitely worth the read even if dont go for the actual program. You can pick it up very reasonable off amazon.
Sending the best of positive thoughts your way.
Thank you Jayne.
They want to go in and take out the kidney but I didn’t like a few things.
1. I asked if they would test my left kidney to make sure i could actually run alright with just that one. (he said they don’t usually do that) LOL
2. Why didn’t they see it when I was in 6 months ago with kidney pain? (you were in 6 mo ago) Oh yeah it’s right here in your chart. (guess he didn’t even look at my chart)
3. Could it be scar tissue from the surgeries I had when I was younger? (You had kidney surgery before?) Seriously wtf? LOL
Thank you for the positive thoughts! I appreciate them.
Haven’t read “Healing Codes” but have to return some books so will look to see if it’s in. I did watch “Dying to have known” (Good video by the way).
Talk to you soon.
W
HI Warren, That is so bizarre that they ‘don’t usually do that’… What?? I would have thought that would be the first thing they’d look at.
Naturally, something needs to be done about the sick kidney… but really, isn’t is just responsible to look to the future.
I have a few friends who have undergone Kidney removal … most are just fine. My ex brother in law however had a bad kidney and the remaining one was not healthy either. His wife (my ex sister in law) was a perfect match so she donated one of hers!! I am so proud and awed at her bravery.
Warren, I know you are a ‘forward thinker’… so I”m sure you have done your research, however I’d like to bounce an idea off you.
That is Alkaline water. I am an affiliate of an Alkaline water system… but not just ‘cos I thought it ‘looked cool’. I drink alkaline water and have done for some time now.
My friends own the company and I purchased my machine off them but… Dr. Snyder is a well known kidney expert and he swears by it.
There is a lot of benefits to alkaline water as it is absorbed by the body and flushes out toxins, etc… that get caught up in our cells. It’s removing these toxins that help prevent disease. Many people have sworn it has cured their sever ailments. I’m not a doctor.. (as you know) but it might be worth investigating. Here is my link… just for you to look at.
Gravity Water System>
You will notice at the top of the Santevia page that Dr. R. Snyder has an ad as he is a huge advocate of alkaline water and kidney ailments. Hey… you never know.
Read the testimonials as well. If you drink water any way (if you don’t you should 🙂 ) then alkaline is in my opinion the best option.
At the end of the day Warren, its all about strengthening the immune system. That’s where the focus has to be regardless of the illness, disease, etc. so it can rebuild and fight.
I would also recommend the Healing Codes. Just give it a read. There’s a lot to be said for the information contained and it’s not a long read. At least it isn’t for me because I am so passionate about the topic.
You have a lot of live for and a lot of people who I’m sure agree. You daughter will want a healthy daddy… and you’ll want to be well enough to enjoy her as you are about to experience one of the most transforming and blessed times of your life. You’ll know exactly what I mean when you meet her.
Warren, keep me posted… there is a reason you have told me about this… let’s go with it. You never know what will change things… that is, if you don’t try.
I know you are positive… and I’m sure you’ll be fine but do what you can and you never know what tomorrow will bring.
I’m not trying to be a nosy parker or a salesperson… I’m just genuinely suggesting this because I do believe in the merits of it. You are a prime candidate.
Let me know your thoughts and feel free to contact me with any questions whatsoever. or even call me… my number is on this site as is my Skype.
I also have a site… http://www.healthy-alkaline-water.com where I have written many articles.
Wishing you nothing but the best
Jayne
Another inspiring post, Jayne! I would completely agree with your philosophy here. A lot of us wait for outer successes before we can feel good on the inside; you are suggesting just the opposite.
Do what it takes to feel good and you’ll create a successful life. Nourish yourself, be curious, stay curious, learn, grow, set little goals, etc are all about cultivating one’s wellness. It’s about feeling well and feeling good NOW.
Indeed, it all starts and ends with your own wellness.
Hi Sage, it really does start with wellness doesn’t it? as much as some people would love to argue that… the bottom line is if you don’t have your health, you’ve got nothing at all.
Thanks for stopping by Sage. Love to visit your place.
See you soon
Jayne
It’s absolutely true that we project what we feel. “Attitude is everything” and if you have a positive attitude you’ll have a better outlook on life which will in turn have a positive affect on your overall life. Great post!
Jayme,
I want to thank you for this post also. I drank so much coffee that I’m becoming like a fish in water. I heed this that I need the drank more water.
Everyday we walk a thin line with becoming obsessed with what we love to do. There has to be a balance to function well.
Hi Jayne,
Very empowering post! “Burning the candle at both ends” describes me to a t. When I realized I was wearing myself out I would stop for a few weeks and relax. But soon I would fall into the same routine. Ha, even my husband told me to slow down, but then he would pile some more stuff on my plate that absolutely had to be done “right this moment.”
Not eating right and not getting enough rest is very unhealthy and really, nothing is worth scarifying our health for. I have started to eat breakfast (never had before throughout my entire life), I watch my cholesterol and…I make sure I get at least one hour of “Me Time” before I go to bed at night.
I still work way to much and don’t get enough exercise, but I am working on that.
Thanks so much for the reminder!
Be blessed,
Ilka
HI Ilka, you sound pretty much like me. I have a pretty difficult time relaxing and always feel I have to be doing something.
Until I started paying better attention to me ‘water intake, sleep, eating and fresh air habits’ it was very difficult to think about accomplishing anything.
I agree wholeheartedly that you can’t sacrifice your health.
Your hubby sounds like my ex. they are so funny; talking one way one second and then being totally hypocritical the next!!
Hope you have a wonderful Saturday. We are off for another two day cheerleading event! 😐 (so much for the weekend LOL… it just goes *poof*)
Jayne
They say that we need at least eight hours of sleep. I have heard that Donald Trump only gets five hours of sleep and he is successful. I feel like I need sleep, but I do not want to sleep. Every single day, I fight the temptations in the back of my head, and with everything I have within me. Time is too short, and something I have come to value far too much for me to let it go by.
They say we also need 8 bottles of water a day. I am not going to argue with that! ( :
When I go without drinking enough water I start to feel sluggish. Those are usually the times I have less energy and are more tempted to sleep. Drinking a lot of water also seems to help my skin! I cannot forget about that because good skin is a recipe for smiles.
Keep up the good work!
God bless,
William Veasley
